Peter Sweeney
Peter joined First4Lawyers in August 2016 after spending over 20 years in Legal IT and software-related industries. His main remit was helping law firms to drive their businesses forward and he was involved in developing and selling the very first legal case management systems.
Peter’s business experience has spanned single partner and multinational firms requiring data centre provision across continents.
Having worked in a software house that developed an integration with the MOJ portal, he understands only too well the complexities of the modern claims landscape, and the pressures that law firms face.
Before moving into legal IT, Peter was a lawyer for almost 10 years, specialising in criminal law.
His main focus with First4Lawyers is our existing clients within the north of England and helping to bring new panel members on board. This involves being on the road for client visits about three days a week.
Away from First4Lawyers, Peter is based in a small village high in the Pennines - a lovely quiet environment but lots of fun in the winter when the snow arrives.
His passion is travel and long-haul flights. Having explored Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam and Indonesia in the last two years, South Korea and Japan are next on his bucket list.
Although most of his business dealings have been with legal firms, one of his favourite non-legal customers was the Goodwood Organisation, meaning free invites to the Goodwood Festival of Speed to indulge his passion for cars.
Peter has recently taken up fly fishing for relaxation but says it may take him some years to perfect it!
