Meet the team - Jacqueline Batty, head of claims

A qualified solicitor with over ten years’ experience of handling personal injury cases, Jacqueline spent four years working at Minster Law, most recently as a complex case handler dealing with high value, complex injury and negligence claims in different aspects of personal injury such as RTA (road traffic accident), employers liability, public liability, occupiers' liability and industrial disease.
Prior to this Jacqueline spent six years at Halifax firm, Benjamin Roberts Solicitors, joining the firm as a paralegal and later qualifying as a solicitor.
Jacqueline joined First4Lawyers in June 2018 as head of claims in order to move away from the practical every day handling of personal injury claims, to a managerial and coaching role.
"I’ve always had a passion for personal injury and felt that I had achieved everything I wanted to as a solicitor. I was becoming more and more interested in the development and management of people, hence why this role is perfect.
"First4Lawyers is an award-winning business and has a great reputation, so when the opportunity came to combine my personal injury and training and development knowledge to good use, I jumped at the opportunity.”
In this newly created role Jacqueline leads a team that handles over 200,000 enquiries per year, covering all aspects of personal injury and clinical negligence as well as leading the expansion of the team into other legal services.
She’s also no stranger to our base in Huddersfield, having graduated from the town’s university, where she took both her law degree and the Legal Practice Course.
"It’s a very positive place to work; nice, friendly people, high levels of commitment, strong team work and most of all successful."
As well as ensuring that the claims team can continue to meet the growing level of demand, she’s also focused on the expansion of the team as the business looks to increase its foothold into other legal services.
Outside of work Jacqueline is a keen horse rider and spends her free time with her young daughter, riding in the countryside.
