White Paper 2024-25 - TikTok or TikNot: Law firms in the social media age
Law firms are spending around a quarter of their marketing budgets on social media but seeing little return on investment, according to our research for this year’s White Paper.
We talked to senior marketers at 100 law firms, surveyed 1,000 consumers and picked the brains of a range of experts for TikTok or TikNot: Law firms in the social media age.
They include Libby Hendry, the former social media manager at Attwells Solicitors who took the mid-sized law firm with offices in Essex, Sussex and London from social media novice to TikTok sensation, with videos attracting up to 18 million views.
As well as research on how firms are using social media, carried out independently by the Hayhurst Consultancy, our 10th annual White Paper is also packed with practical advice on how to get the best out of your social media and see a better ROI.
First4Lawyers’ managing director Qamar Anwar says: “We spoke to 100 senior marketers at law firms in England and Wales operating in personal injury, clinical negligence, conveyancing and wills & probate, to understand better what their marketing looks like and how much they are spending on it. A central finding is that firms are spending a lot on social media but not seeing results.
“The easy answer may be to throw up your hands, say ‘Facebook isn’t for lawyers’, or ‘TikTok is for dancing teens’, and print up some more brochures instead. But we believe the real answer is that firms need to embrace social media marketing, for both direct leads and brand reinforcement. We set out some of the elements you need to consider in doing this.”
Given the subject matter, it seemed fitting to ditch the hard copy this year and for the first time our White Paper is brought to you in a digital-only format. That’s meant we’ve worked even harder this year to bring you not only written content, but video interviews with some of our experts as well.
Our Group Director of Marketing, Andy Cullwick, launched the White Paper via LinkedIn Live and if you missed it, you can watch it back here.
